Japan’s Shizen inks PPA to install 2.2 MW of rooftop solar in Malaysia

Japanese renewables developer Shizen Energy Inc, through its Malaysian subsidiary, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) under which it will install a rooftop solar power array with a minimum capacity of 2.2 MW in Malaysia.

The customer is Malaysia’s Top Glove Corporation Bhd (KLSE:TOPGLOV), a manufacturer of disposable rubber gloves. The agreement is Shizen Malaysia’s first corporate PPA tied to a rooftop solar project, the parent company said.

The Shizen Malaysia team will build the PV system atop factories run by Top Glove in the city of Klang, Selangor state. The system will supply power to the factories on site, Shizen Energy added.
