Production of cement in the country increased more than three times during last 20 years indicating accelerated construction activities.
According to the information, country was producing 9672 thousand tons in 2000-21 which increased to 16353 thousand tons in five years in 2004-05 further to 31358 thousand tons in 2009-10, to 32185 thousand tons in 2014-15 and to 30049 thousand tons , as per provisional figures, for in 2019-20.
Pakistan had produced 41148 thousand tons in 2016-17, 39922 thousand tons in 2017-18, 37022 thousand tons in 2015-16 and 35432 thousand tons in 2014-15.
